Barangaroo South High Voltage Network

This groundbreaking project marks the installation of Australia’s first private 33kV Triplex Network, rated at 28MVA per feeder. The installation was divided into two key components: a 33kV Embedded Network and a DCP Installation.

This project was a collaborative success, requiring strong partnerships between the client, supply authorities, and vendors. Through meticulous planning and coordination, the installation met all technical and operational requirements while overcoming significant challenges.
At a Basement Level Stowe completed items such as: 3 × 33kV Control Points; Future Ausgrid Control Room; DCP Installation of 3 × 33/11kV 5MVA Transformers; 3 × Basement Embedded Networks Substations with GIS HV Switchboards, 33kV/433V 2MVA Transformers, LV Main Switchboards, and Protection Panels; DCP Installation of 4 × 11kV/433V 2MVA Transformers; Integrated SCADA Network; Fibre Optic, Copper Networks, HV & LV Cabling, Earthing Grid, DC Battery Chargers, and associated electrical systems.
On the elevated levels, Stowe completed items such as: Multiple substations across towers at various levels; 21 × 33kV/433V 2MVA Transformers; 7 × 100kA LV Main Switchboards; HV and LV Cabling, Protection Panels, Fibre Optic and Copper Networks.

Stowe Australia completed all testing and commissioning, ensuring seamless operation of SCADA, protection systems, switchgear, and transformers.
Logistical complexity involved coordinating installation on Level 50 required precision handling of 8.2-tonne transformers and extensive HV cabling – over 250 meters down to the basement.
Successful execution involved delivering defect-free and ahead of schedule, despite an aggressive timeline requiring extended work hours and continuous operations at critical phases.
