Melbourne Law Courts

The Melbourne Law Courts project involved the replacement of the existing lighting and control system to optimise the lighting output and efficiency.

An LED upgrade was required, which involved the replacement of more than 10,000 lights and the associated control system across 17 floors. The aim of the project was to optimise energy savings and reduce on-going maintenance costs.
The project involved the replacement of the existing lighting and control system to optimise lighting output and efficiency. The project involved changing 10,276 light fittings to LED’s and upgrading the associated control system across 17 floors.
There were upgrades to the existing circuit protection by replacing the existing ciruit breakers to RCDMCB and rewiring of circuits to rectify any latent conditions.

Stowe recommended that the works be completed after hours to minimise disruption to operations, so the majority of the works took place after hours.
Stowe were provided with limited storage space to store our equipment and as there were more than 10,000 fittings, coordination between the project team and our supplier was critical to ensure that we had sufficient stock so that we would not hinder productivity but also not too much stock that it became unmanageable. To mitigate this challenge, a day shift team were coordinated to dispose of rubbish, collect deliveries, stock take, unbox and prepare lights for the night shift crew and rectify any issues from the previous night.
