Stowe Australia was engaged by AW Edwards to deliver the electrical and communications works for the Port Macquarie Airport terminal upgrade. The staged works included power, lighting, communications, security, and critical infrastructure upgrades, ensuring airport operations remained uninterrupted.

The project involved major upgrades to the existing terminal building, including new check-in facilities, screening and security areas, departures lounge, food and beverage outlets, retail and car rental zones and baggage claim.

All works were staged to ensure uninterrupted airport operations, with flights continuing throughout the construction period.

  • Stowe’s scope included:
  • Temporary electrical services and staged cutovers
  • Underground reticulation and cable pathways
  • Consumer mains and submain cabling
  • Site main switchboard and distribution boards
  • Generator installation for backup supply
  • General power cabling, fittings, and fixtures
  •  Internal and external lighting, including lighting control systems
  • Structured communications cabling and server/data racks
  • Security and access control systems
  •  CCTV system

Critical works, including upgrades to existing infrastructure, were completed out of hours to ensure zero disruption to airport operations. Power and communications to essential systems, such as runway lighting, radio equipment, and carrier services, were maintained throughout.
