Located in Rotary Park overlooking Town Beach, the project involved the demolition of the existing 55-year-old structure and the construction of a modern new facility.

The upgraded Observatory features a purpose-built auditorium, science exhibition area with interactive and static displays, workshops, meeting rooms, and a 6.9-metre dome housing a 16-inch telescope, designed to support astronomy education and community engagement.

Stowe’s scope of work included:

  • ASP3 design and ASP1 construction for the new site power supply
  • Temporary electrical services
  • Underground reticulation, consumer mains, and submain cabling
  • Site main switchboard and distribution boards
  • General power cabling, fittings, and fixtures
  • Internal and external lighting
