Port of Brisbane

Stowe Australia maintains a long-standing relationship with Hutchison Ports, completing the Brisbane container terminal in 2013, before being engaged to perform ongoing maintenance and project upgrades, which is ongoing.

The initial construction of Hutchison Ports Brisbane’s container terminal formed part of a major $200 million investment, with the terminal constructed across a 26-hectare site under a 42-year lease agreement.
Our initial scope of works included the complete installation of high-voltage and low-voltage infrastructure, main switchboards, and distribution boards, along with extensive cable reticulation across the site. We provided power supply to critical automated container handling systems such as ship-to-shore cranes, automated stacking cranes and refrigerated container stations. Stowe also delivered high-mast yard lighting, internal lighting systems, earthing and lightning protection and a comprehensive fibre optic and communications network to support site-wide operations.

Since completion, Stowe Australia has maintained an ongoing relationship with Hutchison Ports, providing electrical maintenance services, emergency breakdown support, and compliance upgrades in line with evolving operational and safety standards.
Our long-standing presence on site reflects our deep understanding of the terminal’s systems and our commitment to supporting one of Queensland’s most critical freight infrastructure assets.
