Description
480 Queen street, a 32 Storey commercial tower located at 480 Queen St in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. With 26 levels of office space and 14 retail tenancies the Electrical Services for 480 Queen Street were designed and installed to achieve 6 Star Green Star As-Built rating, a minimum 5 star NABERS Rating and a PCA – Premium Grade rating while also maintaining the requirements of the Project Investor Brief. Delivering the project to these standards ensures the electrical services design and installation represents the epitome of quality, workmanship and occupant comfort in commercial office space.
With an Electrical supply from 2 onsite Supply Authority Substations housing a total of 6 x 1500KvA Transformers coupled with 3 x 1915KVA Stand-by Diesel Generators, 480 Queen Street is equipped with a sophisticated robust electrical infrastructure.
Being the first steel structure building in the Queensland capital since 1970, various issues with the electrical installation were encountered that required lateral thinking by our Engineering department to overcome. One of which being the lightning protection system of the building which required extensive step touch potential designs and earthing of the steel structure to overcome.
Extensive 3 dimensional drafting of the services and co-ordination enabled the electrical work force peaking at 80 site staff to seamlessly deliver this Marque project within the tight construction time frame and financial restraints.
Stowe Australia utilized in house Engineering and integration technicians to deliver this project incorporating a site wide lighting control and Energy Management systems.
